Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis by a trained therapist to facilitate desired changes drawing on your own inner resources.


Hypnosis is a wonderfully pleasant state of relaxation, it is not sleep.


 In a relaxed, peaceful state the conscious mind is less active, allowing beneficial suggestions to be given to the unconscious mind. This is the source of many problems as well as a tremendous reservoir of unrecognised knowledge. It is these inner resources that are tapped into during hypnosis in order to achieve positive changes. Hypnotherapy is a partnership between you and the therapist. The only changes made are those requested by you for your own benefit. You cannot ever be hypnotised against your will and even when hypnotised can still reject any suggestion that is not appropriate. Hypnosis is complementary to conventional medicine treatment and is a completely natural and safe way of making positive changes.There are no harmful side effects.

In 2005 I graduated with a BSc in Psychology and Criminology. I have extensive training in mental health services, and I am also a trained counsellor. In 2009 I completed my HND (Diploma) in Clinical Hypnotherapy. And in the 10 years between certification and setting up Hypnosenses in 2018, I have worked in the mental health sector, various advisory rolls, HR and mental health forensics.

Solution focused hypnotherapy is founded on Neuroscience. Understanding how our brains work is crucial to being able to understand our behaviours, our emotions and thought patterns and importantly, the brain’s amazing capacity for change. When clients begin to understand their brains, they start to see the reasons they are feeling as they do and that change is possible.

In our hypnotherapy sessions, we focus on solutions and the future. This means that we don’t revisit past experiences or traumas but work together to identify what you want to achieve and how you’re going to achieve it, step by step, through positive change.

I’ve worked with many clients who have transformed their lives, overcoming anxiety and low self-esteem, being able to move on and flourish following a marriage or relationship breakup, overcoming phobias, obsessive behaviours or addiction to drugs and to stop smoking or vaping.
