Cranio-Sacral Therapy

Cranio - Sacral Therapy

Cranial sacral therapy is a very gentle but powerful treatment that uses very light touch to engage with the deepest inherent healing forces within the body to enhance the body’s natural healing ability.

It can help many things including physical trauma, emotional trauma, birth trauma, injury, pain, muscular tension, headaches and illness as well as the different stresses and strains we experience through our life.

The type of cranial sacral therapy that we do is Thomas Atlee’s integrated cranial sacral therapy, so the practitioner works biomechanically as well as biodynamically, looking not only at bony symmetry, tissue quality and cranial motion as described by Sutherland, the ‘founder’ of cranial sacral therapy, but also the whole entirety of the person as a living matrix in the context of their life and all that has happened in it, as circumstances and trauma, especially unresolved trauma can be so overwhelming, leaving us unable to maintain balance which can cause a variety of problems to arise.

What happens during the treatment?

During the treatment you remain fully clothed and  the practitioner places their hands on different parts of your body where needed sometimes including but not limited to the head and sacrum/tailbone area.

It's suitable for people of all ages from new-born babies to people in their 100s.

How many treatments will you need?

How many treatments you will need depends very much on your problem, circumstances and what your body needs, so initially you might need weekly to then spread treatment out to when you know you need it.
